'Matilda' to Welcome Another School Year at Crunchem Hall with Discounted Tickets

The West End's Cambridge Theatre is keeping its school doors open for another year, as Matilda the Musical extends its run into May 2026. Along with this extended booking period, the production has some thrilling new updates for its 13th acclaimed year: a brand new cast and an exclusive £10 ticket offer for young fans of the show.

In a move that will delight Crunchem Hall's incoming students, the Royal Shakespeare Company (supported by Tiktok) is releasing special £10 tickets for all Matilda performances. These are exclusively available to theatregoers aged 1625, making it easier than ever for the next generation to experience live theatre. 16 discounted tickets are set aside every day, which can be booked online or at the Cambridge Theatre box office on the day of the show. Full details are available on the RSC’s TikTok page.

Following the graduation of the 2023-2024 company, a new band of ensemble talent is breathing fresh life into Roald Dahl's unforgettable characters. Angelica Scott (Princess Ying Yaowalak in The King and I), Anna Deikalo (Little Cosette in Les Miserables), Ava Posniak (Natalie Hillard in Mrs Doubtfire), and Sophia Saravanan (West End debut) now share the title role of Matilda, each bringing her own spark and resilience to this iconic young heroine. Joining them are seasoned performers Eve Norris (Nancy in Groundhog Day) as the warm-hearted Miss Honey, as well as Tiffany Graves (The Witches, Chicago, Cats) and Neil McDermott (Pretty Woman, The Sound of Music) as the vivacious and quirky Wormwoods.

This cast takes Matilda into its 13th year in the West End. Back in 2012, it swept the Olivier Awards with a then-record-breaking seven wins; today it has accumulated 101 awards globally, including 24 for Best Musical. Such an impressive legacy speaks to its universal appeal—a story of hope, courage, and resilience that resonates with audiences of all ages.

The musical’s influence spreads far beyond London too. Matilda has graced stages in over a hundred locations, from North America to South Korea (where the first-ever non-English version was staged), reaching an estimated 12 million audience members. Last year, its international tour saw the production debut in several new Asian and Middle Eastern cities, including Tokyo, Japan, and Tel Aviv, Israel. For fans across the globe, Matilda isn’t just a musical; it is a testament to how one little girl’s courage and creativity can impact the world.
