Pirate Studios has officially popped up on the streets of Shoreditch for a three-day takeover of 1 Quaker Street, from Thursday 29 February to Saturday 2 March.

Proudly toting the motto “tomorrow’s sound, here today”, the multi-day event will feature over 100 performers in total, and is designed to promote Pirate’s latest artist residency programme. This scheme offers emerging artists and DJs the chance to play slots at festivals, or have their tracks spun across the airwaves of well-known radio stations — and it’s all just an application form away.

Last year, Pirate supported 30 artists across their talent development projects, some of whom got behind the decks at Thursday’s pop-up DJ booth. A roster of resident DJs set the tone for the afternoon, with sets spanning from dancehall to techno, before Changing Currents and re:ni capped off the first round of performances in style. Whether you prefer to get down to Afrobeats, Portuguese rap or Japanese dance, today’s lineup had it all covered — and with two days to go, the party’s only just getting started.

Tomorrow, the doors to Pirate’s pop-up will open once again to feature more DJs, followed by a sold-out live music showcase: featuring the likes of BINA, Harleighblu, Shaun Sky, LR Loose, and more. Tomorrow’s sound is here today — and tomorrow! — but it’ll be gone by Sunday, so don’t miss out on catching it while you have the chance.

You can book a free ticket to Friday’s and Saturday’s DJ booth sessions here, or keep up with all things Pirate on their website.
